Brittany Higgins’ lawyers hit out over ‘selective’ reporting

Brittany Higgins’ legal team has dropped its objections to media access to Linda Reynolds’ explosive statement in her defamation case, but urged the media to properly report Ms Higgins’ defense to avoid ” unilateral and selective reporting” in this affair.

The WA Supreme Court rejected initial applications from news.com.au and The Australian to publish the statement for the purposes of fair and accurate reporting, in the latter case citing the objection of Ms Higgins’ legal team.

However, he previously published an earlier version of Senator Reynolds’ statement to journalist and editor Richard Ackland, who posted the full document on his 500-word website on June 25.
