
Syrian President had phone talks with UAE presidents
The presidents of Syria and the United Arab Emirates discussed positive developments in the Arab arena.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had a phone conversation with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), during which they discussed the positive developments in the Arab arena, the Syrian Parliament said. The president said on Sunday.
During the call, Assad praised Syria for the UAE’s role in improving Arab relations in a way that enhances joint Arab cooperation and serves the interests of Arab countries and peoples.
The parties also discussed bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields.
On March 19, accompanied by a delegation of ministers, Asad arrived in the UAE on an official visit to hold talks with Mohammed bin Zayed. The visit – Assad’s second in as many years to the oil-rich nation – follows a visit to Oman in February.
