Three Chinese among four killed in Karachi University blast

KARACHI, April 26 (Asia Today / INP ): Three Chinese nationals among four people and many others sustained injuries in suspected suicide attack on van in the premises of the University of Karachi on Tuesday.

According to details, the van was targeted near the Confucius Institute — a Chinese language teaching centre at Karachi University at about 2pm.

After the explosion, rescue and security personnel reached the scene, cordoned off the area and started rescue operation.

Four people including three Chinese nationals identified as the director of the Confucius Institute Huang Guiping, Ding Mupeng, Chen Sai, and their Pakistani driver, Khalid were killed in the blast while three others a Chinese national were reported injured.

According to the CCTV footage obtained by the police, a burqa-clad woman seen near the scene of blast may be involved in the suicide attack targeting the Chinese citizens.

However, investigations were underway to find out the elements involved in the blast.
