Cruz Hewitt Nominated for Junior Athlete of the Year

Cruz Hewitt, the 15-year-old son of Australian tennis legend Lleyton Hewitt, has been nominated for Tennis Australia’s Junior Male Athlete of the Year award. Cruz, currently ranked 104th in the junior world rankings, earned recognition after winning two junior ITF titles and securing his first senior victory over a player seven years his senior at an ITF event in Bali.

The young tennis prodigy, who will turn 16 in December, is set to return to the junior singles draw at the Australian Open in January. Lleyton Hewitt, speaking at the Australian Open launch, expressed excitement about his son’s future, noting that Cruz handles the pressure and attention with ease.
