Andy Murray drawn against Tomas Machac in Wimbledon men’s singles first round as he targets SW19 swansong…

An embarrassing and lengthy technical error caused chaos during the Wimbledon women’s singles draw this morning, before Andy Murray was drawn against Tomas Machic in the first round of the men’s singles.

After Beatriz Haddad Maia’s name was called, the announcer had to pause for several moments during the draw, but Mira Andreeva appeared on the digital board doing the draw. This caused a knocking effect and took several minutes to resolve.

Despite a lengthy discussion with the technical team between the draws, a similar misplacement occurred in the men’s draw but this time it was quickly spotted and rectified.
