Bodhi Uwland Extends Contract with Gold Coast Suns
Gold Coast defender Bodhi Uwland has signed a two-year contract extension, continuing his impressive journey with the Suns.
Uwland, 20, has made 14 out of 17 AFL appearances this season, excelling under premiership-winning coach Damien Hardwick.
“It’s been an incredible experience with the Suns, and I’ve loved being a key player, earning the coaches’ trust each week,” said Uwland, a Round 12 Rising Star nominee. “Playing for the team I supported as a kid is a privilege I cherish. I aim to repay the club’s faith in me and help achieve success.”
Suns national recruiting manager Kall Burns praised Uwland, an academy product, for his tenacity and work ethic, especially after overcoming stress fractures in his back in 2022.
“Bodhi’s continuity in football after early injury setbacks is commendable,” Burns said. “He leads by example on the field and inspires those around him. We’re thrilled to have him for at least two more years.”
The Suns are aiming for their ninth win of the season as they host Port Adelaide at People First Stadium on Sunday.
