Borussia Dortmund Boss Edin Terzic Quits After Alleged Confrontation with Mats Hummels
Borussia Dortmund has announced that manager Edin Terzic has departed the club of his own accord.
This development follows reports suggesting Terzic had a heated dispute with Mats Hummels before the Champions League final.
On Thursday, Dortmund issued a statement saying: “Borussia Dortmund and coach Edin Terzic have decided to part ways.”
The 41-year-old, who led BVB to a DFB Cup victory in 2021, a second-place finish in 2023, and a Champions League final in 2024, requested an immediate termination of his contract. Borussia Dortmund consented to this request following a mutual discussion.
In a message to the fans, Terzic said: “Dear Borussia supporters, although it deeply pains me, I want to inform you that I am leaving BVB today. It was an incredible honor to guide this magnificent club to a DFB Cup win and recently to a Champions League final.
“After our final at Wembley, I requested a meeting with the management because, after a decade with BVB, including five years on the coaching staff and two and a half years as head coach, I felt it was time for a change.
