Bajaur District is situated in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) of Pakistan, and in 2018, the former FATA region was merged into the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The region has a rich historical and cultural background, shaped by its geographical location and historical events.

Historically, Bajaur has been inhabited by various tribes, and its history is intertwined with the broader history of the Pashtun people. The region has witnessed different periods of governance and has been influenced by various external forces over the centuries.

Bajaur, including Tehsil Mamond, has been strategically significant due to its proximity to the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. The region has been a focal point in geopolitical affairs, especially during times of conflict and political changes in the broader South Asian and Central Asian regions.

The local communities in Tehsil Mamond have traditionally followed Pashtun customs and traditions, and the area has been known for its tribal structure, with tribes playing a crucial role in the social and political fabric. The region has experienced its share of challenges, including periods of instability and conflict.

In recent years, efforts have been made to address some of these challenges, including the extension of Pakistani state authority and development initiatives. The merger of FATA into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is part of broader reforms aimed at mainstreaming the tribal areas and integrating them more closely with the rest of Pakistan.
