Qantas flight death: Manpreet Kaur’s final act
As her flight was about to take off from Melbourne, a young woman spent her last moments looking at a picture of her parents on her phone before passing away in her seat.
Manpreet Kaur, a 24-year-old aspiring chef, was on her way back to Delhi, India, to visit her parents for the first time in four years after moving to Australia on June 20.
While fastening his seat belt, he experienced a medical emergency, prompting the aircraft to return to the gate where cabin crew and medical personnel attempted to revive him but were unsuccessful.
Her cousin and Melbourne roommate Kuldeep Kaur shared with Daily Mail Australia that Ms Kaur’s health had deteriorated in recent months due to undiagnosed tuberculosis. She was traveling back so her family could help her recover.
A post-mortem confirmation of tuberculosis means his body cannot be taken out of Australia, and his family are now making arrangements to fly to Australia to say goodbye.
A passenger sitting next to Ms Kaur has come forward to describe the moments leading up to her medical emergency, hoping to bring some comfort to her family.
