Chilling new detail in murder of Sydney water polo coach, Lilie James
The individual who took Lilie James’ life allegedly utilized the same hammer, which he used to perpetrate the crime, just hours before to set up desks for HSC exams at their esteemed Sydney school.
As the investigations into the last moments of both Lilie James and the hockey coach, Paul Thijssen, unfold, The Daily Mail has disclosed this unsettling detail.
The grim revelation of Ms. James’ motionless body in the gym bathroom of St. Andrew’s Cathedral School transpired shortly after midnight on October 25.
The Daily Mail stated that Thijssen appeared “optimistic” on the day of Ms James’ tragic incident and was eagerly looking forward to coaching hockey at St Vincent’s College the next day, where he also worked.
St. Andrew’s Cathedral School, where Ms James coached water polo, had requested Thijssen to arrange desks in the gymnasium for HSC students. This assignment supposedly required using a hammer and other tools from the school’s storeroom.
At that time, some of the school’s international students were in the midst of their finals, and Year 12 students had commenced their HSC exams two weeks before the unfortunate event.
Upon returning to Vaucluse following the incident, Thijssen was once again caught on security cameras inside the residence of Ms. James’ friend.
At 8:47 pm, he pulled up in a rented white Lexus, purportedly discarded the murder weapon in a bin by 9:04 pm, and then spent two hours in his car before reporting the crime to triple-0 just before midnight.
Utilizing Ms. James’ phone, Thijssen had previously sent a text to her father, posing as her, requesting him to pick her up from St. Andrews.
The triple-0 call was traced to The Gap in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, where an abandoned backpack containing some of Thijssen’s belongings was discovered. However, he remained elusive, prompting a search operation.
