Two young boys killed in alleged street race
A second driver has been charged seven months after two young brothers were killed in a horrific crash.
Emergency crews were called to Grand Pedy, Monterey, south of Sydney, after a Subaru WRX left the road and hit a tree at about 10pm on August 25 last year.
Brothers Xavier, 10, and nine-year-old Peter Abreu died shortly after being taken to Sydney Children’s Hospital.
A 33-year-old man, who was reportedly driving the Subaru that crashed into a tree, and a nine-year-old girl escaped with relatively minor injuries.
On Thursday, NSW Police have now charged a 25-year-old Roselands man, who was allegedly driving another car at the time of the crash, with two counts of murder.
