Sharon Stone says she was asked to sleep with her co-star Billy Baldwin to improve her performance. He says he is hurt because she rejected him. Now his film director has revealed Brad Pitt’s unwitting role in the toxic sex scandal.

Fresh from the sensational success of her role in Basic Instinct, Sharon Stone hoped to star opposite a young Brad Pitt in her erotic thriller sequel. The actress imagined filming steamy scenes in which her character, a book publisher, was graphically freed from her sexual state by Pitt’s pretty-boy charms.

But Stone’s dreams were dashed when Pitt, 29, was replaced as the lead in Sliver by William Baldwin, a star on the rise after hits with Flatliners and Backdraft.

Worse, audiences ridiculed the sex scenes — including one in an elevator that in today’s post-MeToo era seems sexually aggressive and non-consensual. For her part, Stone made no secret of the fact that Baldwin was unwanted. The animosity was mutual, and when Baldwin finished a sex scene, he quipped to a Stone crew member, “Thin lips, good breath.”
