A teenager granted bail after allegedly causing a fatal collision in Melbourne last week is now missing.

Victoria Police have announced they are searching for the 17-year-old boy, who was reportedly driving a stolen Jeep Cherokee that collided with William Taylor’s Toyota Corolla in Burwood on July 2.

Mr. Taylor, a trainee doctor, died at the scene.

After allegedly fleeing the scene, the teenager was arrested, charged, and appeared in children’s court on Friday, where he was granted bail on the condition that he remain at home with his mother.

However, on Tuesday evening, police confirmed that they are now searching for the teen, whose current location is unknown.

“Police are currently searching for a 17-year-old boy who was allegedly involved in a fatal collision in Burwood on July 2,” a Victoria Police statement said.

“The teenager has failed to comply with his bail conditions, and his whereabouts are unknown,” the statement continued.

The Jeep involved in the crash was reportedly stolen during an aggravated burglary on June 24 and used in an armed robbery in Ormond before the fatal accident.
