Heartbreaking social media posts showing what appears to be a loving family have emerged following a devastating house fire over the weekend that left three children dead.

The deadly volcano in Sydney’s Lalor Park was reportedly started when a man threw a flaming pillow at his partner.

Police alleged that the pillow was thrown at around 12.55 am on Sunday and was followed by a second explosion that engulfed the property.

The pillow fire is not believed to be the only cause of the fire and experts are working to determine what caused the second explosion, the Daily Telegraph reports.

Detectives are reportedly investigating whether an accelerant was used.
